A complete guide to buying soft beds: three ways to distinguish the good from the bad, choose the right one and avoid pitfalls!
1. Weigh to test the "muscles and bones", and see the true weight of the bed
For a good soft bed, stability is the foundation! When choosing, you can lift the corners of the bed with both hands to feel the weight, or invite your family to help lift the whole bed - the higher the density of the board and the more solid the material, the heavier the weight and the stronger the support. Focus on checking the bottom storage box board: you may want to stand in the center of the box board and slowly apply pressure (within the load-bearing range). If the box board has no obvious dents and no abnormal sounds, it means that its load-bearing performance meets the standard; if it bends and deforms after placing heavy objects, there will be safety hazards in subsequent use.
2. Touch to identify "skin texture", texture determines quality
The charm of a leather soft bed is hidden in the touch of your fingertips! Press the leather surface lightly with your palm. The natural top layer of cowhide rebounds quickly, is full and soft, and is as delicate as touching a cloud; synthetic leather is stiff and dry, and the wrinkles recover slowly after pressing. If you smell it closely, the leather exudes a light natural scent, while inferior leather often has a pungent chemical smell. If the merchant allows it, you can scratch the surface lightly with your fingernail. Genuine leather can recover automatically with slight scratches, while synthetic leather is easy to leave marks.
3. Listen to the sound to distinguish "real and fake", details hide craftsmanship
Knock on the bed frame to listen to the sound: solid wood sounds like a drum, crisp and solid; density board or particle board sounds hollow and muffled. Lift up the mattress to check the internal structure. The keels of high-quality soft beds are arranged neatly, and there is no looseness at the joints; inferior bed frames shake and make strange sounds, and there may be deviations in the screw holes. Turn over the bed to observe the back: the back of a soft bed with exquisite craftsmanship is polished smoothly and tightly sealed, which is the same as the front; products with rough workmanship may have exposed burrs on the back and obvious glue marks.
